Who I am
My name is Henry Goodman, but everyone calls me Hank. I live in the upstate of South Carolina near Clemson. After 25 years with Clemson University, working in a maintenance field with and engineering background, I retired to take on new endeavors.
I have a U S Coast Guard Masters License with STCW and TWIC. I have worked on both power and sailing vessels up to 150 feet.
I am a PADI Dive instructor Emeritus, having not only taught classes but owned and run a dive store. I still enjoy diving, both professionally and recreationally.
I am an avid sailboat racer, and also do race management on a national level. I am a member of the Keowee Sailing Club, and an Officer with the South Atlantic Yacht Racing Association.
I have enjoyed saltwater fishing, both inshore and offshore, and also try to find time for lake fishing when I can.
I have been a member of MENSA for over 25 years.
What I Do
I offer several services in addition to working as a Captain or Engineer on private and charter yachts, either full time, part time, or on deliveries. I will take care of maintenance and repairs while you are away from your yacht, with either full time service, or periodic scheduled visits. I will oversee yard visits, or the instillation of goods and equipment at your dock.
If you are new to yachting or just this yacht I will work with you to learn the ropes and feel comfortable with the daily running of your yacht.
No time constraints I work on your schedule and will stay as long as you need, and will be ready to leave any time you feel you are ready to take it on by your self.
I also serve as crew on racing sailboats and will help with the delivery from race to race.
